PARK COMMISSION MINUTES January 10, 2024 Meeting called to order 9:37am Commission members in attendance: Fred Belay, Jennifer Meyer, Kathy Alf, Tom Roach, Barb Kleist, Dean Kallenbach and Tony Bischel Adopt Agenda; motion made by Jennifer/sec Kathy and passed Approval of December 6, 2023 minutes; motion made by Jennifer/sec Tony and passed Financial Report Total expenses paid in December $ 2,442.84 Total YTD $ $ 22,549.07 There were no invoices or work log to be approved. Motion to approve financial report made by Barb/sec Tony and passed Parks Discussion Sherman Creek-Utilizing the Witucki gift to improve the park was discussed. When weather permits in 2024 railroad ties and a railing to improve the entrance to the park are planned. Barb will get a couple of bags of chicken grit from Fleet Farm to place in a container in the park. The grit can be used on icy areas. Conservancy-Jennifer is getting the plans for the pavilion improvements to Jeff Whyte. He has a potential contractor who has previously worked for the town. New Business The 2024-25 Work Plan was discussed. As noted above in the Sherman Creek Park discussion improving the entrance to the park with railroad ties (tiered) and a railing. Jennifer will contact a couple of teachers regarding development of an education outreach program.
