Town Board Meeting — Minutes

MINUTES Note: These are the proposed Minutes that will be approved at the next meeting. ____________________________________________________________________________ Town of Sharon Board Meeting Thursday, April 9, 2026 – 6:30 p.m. Sharon Town Hall 1.Call to Order: Chairman Check called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. 2. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 3.Roll Call: Chairman Check, Supervisor Gibbs, Supervisor Gagas, Clerk Treasurer Filtz, Joe Jakubek and a few other town residents were present. 4. Notice of Meeting Postings: Notice of the meeting was posted in three places in the Town of Sharon (town hall window, kiosk between Sylvia’s and Polonia Café, kiosk in front of North Star Machine) and on the town website and Facebook. 5. Approval of Agenda: Motion made by Supervisor Gibbs, seconded by Supervisor Gagas to approve the agenda. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. 6. Approval of Minutes of March 12 and March 25, 2026, Board Meeting: Motion made by Supervisor Gagas, seconded by Supervisor Gibbs to approve the Minutes. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. 7. Approval of the Bill Listing for March 13, 2026, through April 9, 2026: Motion made by Supervisor Gibbs, seconded by Supervisor Gagas to approve the Bill Listing. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. 8. Plan Commission Report: Supervisor Gibbs did not have a report this month. 9. Appointment of Plan Commissioners: Motion by Supervisor Gagas, seconded by Supervisor Gibbs to appoint Mike Sommers and Kyle Brooks to the Plan Commission for another 2-year term. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. 10. Polonia Park Report: Supervisor Gibbs read the report provided by the Chair into the record. 11. Class B Retail Liquor License for Emes Bar LLC: The Board accepted verbal approval via phone conversation with Sondra Bennett that May 2, 2026, will be the effective date of the transfer from Jake’s Bar to Eme’s Bar. Motion by Supervisor Gagas, seconded by Supervisor Gibbs to approve the Class B Retail Liquor License for Emily Eilers EMEs Bar LLC d/b/a Eme’s Bar for May 2, 2026. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. 12. Chairman’s Report: Bruce Boenski, Sharon EMS, gave the Sharon EMS report to the Board. Chairman Check discussed some options for securing the Clerk’s office more. Joe got some loads of patch material for the roads. Reimbursement for town expenses due to the blizzard in March was applied for with the County. Grant money from Twin Lakes to Bentley Road will need to be approved by the State before bids can be sent out. Chip sealing quote award went to Fahrner. Joe gave a report on the stump clean up on 10th Street and Polonia Road. Adjournment: Motion made by Supervisor Gibbs, seconded by Supervisor Gagas to adjourn. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried.
