CITY OF GILLETT FINANCE AND PERSONNEL COMMITTEE Council Chambers – Municipal Building 150 N McKenzie Ave – Gillett, WI 54124 WEDNESDAY, JULY 9, 2025 AT 6:30 PM MINUTES Committee may deviate from the agenda as needed Chairperson Mohr called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM. Roll Call Present: Alderpersons Nanette Mohr and Ashley VanStraten Alderpersons Keri Hicks, Jerry Luther, Matt Young, Mayor Jon Blaskowski, Clerk Treasurer Chelsea Anderson, and Fire Chief Kurt Hicks. Excused David Bunker. Open Meeting Law has been complied with. Public Input –None AGENDA ITEMS 1. Discussion and possible minutes from April 3, 2025 MOTION: VanStraten/Mohr Motion to approve the minutes from April 3, 2025 Voice Vote: All Voting Aye – MOTION CARRIED 2. Discussion and possible action on Budget Review- reviewed police department budget. Over in supplies due to Kerber Rose payroll charges for timecard discrepancies. Went over fire department budget. Vehicle maintenance budget last 5 years. 2021-12,000, 22-15,000, 23-17,000, 24-8,000, $12,000 for 2025. All fire trucks are 22-33 years old. Cracked a pump, lost valve on main line engine, master drain valve froze, aerial truck lost all electrical to ladder, lost high pressure variable nozzle, ongoing electrical issues, automatic oiler putting over amps for electrical, blowing the fuses, already overt budget and that is just this year. Truck still needs to go back in. Asking to up the budget next year. Uniform budget can be used for vehicle fund. Needs thermostat, grease, pump testing, and to be DOT inspected. 3. Committee may go into closed session to discuss matters of employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of public employees pursuant to 19.85 (1c) Wis. Stats. -Leave Lay 4. Committee will return to open session and may take action on matters discussed in closed session.- Leave Lay 5. Set Next Meeting Date- To Be Determined 6. Adjournment at 7:10 PM.
