CITY OF GILLETT PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE MEETING Council Chambers – Municipal Building 150 N McKenzie Ave – Gillett, WI 54124 THURSDAY, APRIL 3, 2025 AT 5:50 PM MINUTES Chairperson Drake called the meeting to order at 5:50 pm. Roll Call Present: Alderpersons Irene Drake and Jerry Luther Also Present: Matt Young, Nanette Mohr, and Ashley VanStraten, Mayor Jon Blaskowski, Clerk Treasurer Chelsea Anderson, and Public Works Foreman Nate Anderson. Art Bahr from MSA Grant Writer. David Bunker is excused. Public Input: None AGENDA ITEMS: 1. Discussion and Possible Action on March 26, 2025 Minutes- Leave Lay MOTION: Mohr/Drake 2. Discussion and Possible Action on Heroes Day Off- Event will be on July 12. Clerk will call event manager to give more details on the park rental. 3. Discussion and Possible Action on ordering garbage/recycling lids- Our garbage/recycling company that picks up our bins is GFL. They break the lids occasionally during the pickup process (sometimes a couple a week). We have numerous bins without lids because we replace the broken lids. The company we purchased the bins from, Rehrig Pacific Company, has a 10 year warranty on the bins and has agreed to send us 100 new lids for recycling and 100 new garbage lids. They will even change the color of the garbage to black (recycling red) to help differentiate the bins. 4. Set Next Meeting Date –To Be Determined. 5. Adjournment at 5:58 PM.
