CITY OF GILLETT TOURISM AND MARKETING Council Chambers – Municipal Building 150 N McKenzie Ave – Gillett, WI 54124 THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 2025 AT 5:00 PM MINUTES Chairperson Luther called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm. Roll Call Present: Alderpersons Jerry Luther Also Present: Clerk Treasurer Chelsea Anderson, Members Chris Byars, Marie Blaser, Keri Hicks and Lorenzo Diaz. Alderperson Irene Drake and Nanette Mohr. Mayor Jon Blaskowski, Alderperson David Bunker, and Member Deanna Smith are excused. Public Input: None 1. Discussion and Possible action on minutes from January 2, 2025 MOTION: Blaser/Mohr Motion to approve minutes from January 2, 2025 Voice Vote: All Voting Aye – MOTION CARRIED 2. Discussion and Possible action on signage- Discussion was had about how the Village of Bonduel worked around the construction with signage and information to help the citizens and tourists maneuver through the construction. Discussion was had to contact local businessperson Jeff Herwig to make signs. Lorenzo Diaz, Keri Hicks, Deanna Smith, Chris Byars, Nate Hansen, and Marie Blaser made a subcommittee to work through the signage making and displaying. The project is going to start in April. With the highway project intended to be complete in the summer of 2026, we can use the signs this year and next. 3. Discussion and Possible action on playground- MOTION: Byars/Mohr Motion to approve the purchase of a fundraising thermometer board. Voice Vote: All Voting Aye – MOTION CARRIED Put on the thermometer: $800,000 Goal Zippel Park Playground All Inclusive Restrooms Logo-City of Gillett QR Code cityofgillett.com 4. Discussion and Possible action on future projects and Riemer property purchase- Mr. Riemer asked if the City would still be interested in purchasing 42 acres of his land located in the City limits. Put on a Finance agenda. 5. Set Next Meeting Date- March 6th, 2025, at 5:00 PM 6. Adjournment at 5:45 PM MOTION: Mohr/Byars Motion to adjourn.
