POLONIA PARK COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES – January 12, 2026 at 6 PM Sharon Town Hall 6704 State Hwy 66 Custer, WI Attendees: Gayle Hintz, Lori Printz, Cortney Zinda, Alyssa Gagas, and Katie Osowski Author: Katie Osowski ______________________________________________________________________________ AGENDA • Call meeting to order at: 6:02pm • Roll call: Gayle, Katie, Alyssa, Courtney, and Lori • Notice of public meeting & how given: Town Hall, Facebook, website, North Star machine, Sylvia’s Kiosk. • Approval of January 12th agenda. Katie approved the January 12th agenda and Gayle seconded it. • Approval of November 17, 2025 Park Commission meeting minutes. Gayle approved the November 17th, 2025 Park Commission meeting minutes, and Cortney seconded it. • Approval of Treasurer report. Alyssa approved the treasurer report, and Cortney seconded it. o Checking account: $1,536.10 o Savings account: $66,523.15 • Recap on Polonia Parade – Gayle – # of floats, volunteers, anything leftover (beads, candy, toys), 50/50 raffle, do we want to consider accepting donated food items for food pantries in area next year? o 27 floats, 13 floats didn’t show up because of the cold. 17+ volunteers, started with 360 beads, 40 bags of candy, 394 toys and 100 pencils we have bought. We have about half of that left for next year. ▪ On our note to go out to people for the floats next year, we may want to add a line if they are in need of parking before 4:30pm, please call. ▪ JR’s 50-50 raffle we made $400. ▪ We have plenty of parking and no parking signs that are all metal now thanks to Kenny Rozek. ▪ Dolce printing posters $27.69 and Amazon toys $144.78 = $172.47 in expenses. ▪ Consider food pantry donation next year? Possibly think about this with the Easter Egg hunt instead. • Discussion/action on 2026 goals o Table the 2026 goals until February meeting. • Discuss /action on Steak dinner fundraiser 2026 date o Table the steak dinner until February. • Discuss/Action regarding face painting vendors – (Easter Egg Hunt) o Table until February o Poster- will need completed for February. Cortney to complete • Discuss possible businesses/individuals for (Egg Hunt) raffle basket donations o Lori compiled a letter to hand out to potential donors. o Gayle- idea for looking for volunteers: Put a poster up advertising what events we have available and if interested put your name and phone number down on the slip of paper. • Discuss vendors for septic service & ground bee service to begin by April 1st (Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, April 4th) o Septic Service is the same price as last year. (Debbie) Scott’s port-a-potty: April 1st-Oct 31st. $165 every 28 days; clean every week through the summer then two weeks. o Marathon Pest- (Jeff) $48 like last year. o February’s meeting, we will have an action/motion for the above services. Chair report • Rosholt Record – completed 2025 goals in Dec (also RR added their own write up with Polonia Parade w/pics) • F/UP on bldg. sub committee o Will have a meeting once Lori is able to get a hold of Dennis, the mechanical engineer, from Mosinee. • F/up on DOA grant, T-Mobile grant & WEDC grant (mtg 12/9/25) o Lori spoke with Kayla regarding the T-Mobile and the WEDC grant and is awaiting a response. Kayla is to look into the DOA grant. We are just unsure at this time when it’ll be open again. o We need five letters- letters of intent. • Any new business o Inquire with Pam regarding the possibility of putting a question on the April’s ballot for a commercial building at the Polonia Park. o Should we obtain a debit/credit card? Are we able to? Lori to look into this. • Schedule February meeting on Monday, February 9, 2026 at 6:00pm • Adjournment: o Katie motioned to close the meeting at 7:31pm and Cortney seconded it.
