AUGUST 2025 MINUTES Note: These are the proposed Minutes that will be approved at the next meeting. ____________________________________________________________________________ Town of Sharon Board Meeting Tuesday, August 12, 2025 – Immediately After Public Hearing at 6 p.m. Sharon Town Hall Call to Order: Chairman Check called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. Roll Call: Chairman Check, Supervisor Gibbs, Supervisor Gagas, Clerk Treasurer Filtz and 7 others were present. Notice of Meeting Postings: Notice of the meeting was posted in three places in the Town of Sharon (town hall window, kiosk between Sylvia’s and Polonia Café, kiosk in front of North Star Machine) and on the town website and Facebook. Approval of Agenda: Motion made by Supervisor Gagas, seconded by Supervisor Gibbs to approve the agenda. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. Approval of Minutes of July 8, 2025, Board Meeting Minutes: Motion made by Supervisor Gibbs, seconded by Supervisor Gagas to approve the Minutes. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. Approval of the Bill Listing for July 9, 2025, through August 12, 2025: Motion made by Supervisor Gibbs, seconded by Supervisor Gagas to approve the Bill Listing. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. Proposals for Solid Waste and Recycling Services: The Board entertained requests from Harter’s and GFL. Representatives from both companies were present for questions. However, the Board will review both proposals at length. Motion made by Supervisor Gagas, seconded by Supervisor Gibbs to table a decision until the September meeting. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. Ordinance to Amend the Town of Sharon Comprehensive Plan for Parcels 032-24-0909- 10.24 and 032-24-0909-11.01: Motion made by Supervisor Gibbs, seconded by Supervisor Gagas to approve the Amendment of the Comprehensive Plan for the named parcels. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. Discussion on the Request of Kate Taylor and Sara Studinski for the Amendments to the Town of Sharon Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map: Motion made by Supervisor Gagas, seconded by Supervisor Gibbs to approve the requested changes of both property owners. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. Plan Commission Report: Ronald Hensler, 8754 Carriage Lane, Custer. Ron is requesting to change zoning of 40 acres from A1 to A3. This is needed to create a buildable 5-acre lot for his daughter/family to continue the farming operations. Parcel # 032-24-0913-01. Motion by Supervisor Gagas, seconded by Supervisor Gibbs to approve the requested changes by Hensler. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. Polonia Park Report: Park Chair, Lori Printz, reported to the Board on the last month of activities. RFD Trailer and Truck Purchase by Firemen: Chairman Check reported that the firemen purchased a trailer without prior approval from the Fire District Board. He explained that all purchases must come before the Board before purchases are made. Motion made by Supervisor Gibbs, seconded by Supervisor Gagas to table the agenda item until more information is presented. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. Operator Licenses: Motion by Supervisor Gagas, seconded by Supervisor Gibbs to approve the Operator Licenses of Jacob Danielsen and Brandon Hintz. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. Chairman’s Report: Bruce Boenski gave the Sharon EMS report. Chairman Check reported Fahrner is done chip sealing; however, they need to repair a couple of patches on Legend’s Lane and Huntington. Ditching should be completed on Woodland Road project. Closed Session: The Town Board entered into Closed Session at 7:24 p.m. Motion made by Supervisor Gibbs, seconded by Supervisor Gagas to enter into Closed Session. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. Open Session: Motion made by Supervisor Gibbs, seconded by Supervisor Gagas to enter back into Open Session at 8:20 p.m. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried.
