Minutes: Town of Stockton Board Meeting Monday, March 9th, 2026 @ 6:30 PM Town Hall, 7252 6th St, Custer, WI 54423 1. Call to Order by Chairman, Mike Bronk at 6:30pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor Jeanne Dodge, Supervisor Terry Johnson, Treasurer Maria Davis and Clerk Zurawski were present. 1 member of the public was present. 2. Certify compliance with Open Meeting Law – Clerk, Jennifer Zurawski, verified proper notification was given at three physical sites, on our town website, and in the paper regarding this meeting. 3. Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to approve Agenda for Monday, March 9th, 2026. Motion carried 3-0. 4. Motion (Dodge/Johnson) to approve Minutes for the Town Board Meeting on Monday, February 23rd, 2026. Motion carried 3-0. 5. Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to approve Minutes for the Special Town Board Meeting on Thursday, March 5th, 2026. Motion carried 3-0. 6. Anyone wishing to Address the Board – Resident, Jeff Zygarlicke, stated that prices are increasing for mowing and told the board that they may see a minimal increase for mowing the cemeteries and parks this year. Supervisor Terry Johnson stated that Jon Zblewski had a concern about parking at Kelly’s Pub and Grill. He stated that cars were blocking the roadways and his driveway. 7. Standing Rocks Project and Updates – Clerk Jennifer Zurawski, stated she received an email from Paul, the new contact for the next phase of this project asking where and when the board wanted to meet to discuss next steps of the construction process. The town board asked that they push it back to a later time in the afternoon so that they could attend after their workday. 8. Discussion of Employee Handbook – Clerk Jennifer Zurawski reported the board what she learned in the webinar training she had last week on employee handbooks and gave her recommendations of changes to the first 4 pages of the handbook. Discussion was had and the board made their suggestions and asked that I make those updates and have them available at the next meeting to discuss. 9. Discussion of Treasurer Position – Chairman Mike Bronk welcomed Maria to the new Treasurer position and asked her to give the board an idea of her plan moving forward. Treasurer Maria Davis stated it is the town board’s decision on what the next steps are, but she is happy to take over this role until they find a replacement or if needed, she could finish out the previous Treasurer’s term which ends in April of 2027. 10. Operator’s License/Retailer’s License – Clerk Zurawski stated why this operator license request was back on the agenda. The board reviewed the documents from the background checks provided by the Plover Police department; the Stevens Point Police Department and the Sheriff’s office. Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to deny this application based on the documents provided from the background checks provided. Motion carried 3-0. 11. Public Works Update - Chairman Bronk stated that the road crew has been trimming Oaks on the side of road and getting all the equipment cleaned up during this nice weather. Supervisor Dodge stated they have been doing a great job, and it is noticed by many residents. Clerk Zurawski stated that she posted the Road Limits sign last Thursday to state that the road limits are now in place as of 7am this morning. She had a few requests for exemptions for local farms. 12. Bills/Checks/Void Checks to Approve – Motion (Dodge/Johnson) to approve checks 45218-45244 and ACH transfers 201361-201363 with no voids. Motion carried 3-0. 13. Clerk’s Report – Clerk Zurawski submitted the affidavit for Jeanne’s attendance at the BOR Training. Clerk Zurawski stated that the County Clerk Maria Davis sent a letter on purchasing the new DS300 in 2027 with other municipalities to lower cost, and Jennifer wanted this to be something the board was aware of before making the decision to get a new tabulator machine. Clerk Zurawski has been busy setting up election training for the new poll worker in this next 2-year cycle. She has confirmed workers for the next election and has started posting all the materials received from the county. She will begin absentee ballots next week. Clerk Zurawski presented locked mailbox options for down at the road to be approved by the board for purchase prior to the upcoming election. 14. Correspondence – Let the record show there are none. 15. Items for Future meetings – Clerk Zurawski stated that the next town board meeting will be on Monday, March 23rd, 2026. 16. Motion (Johnson/Bronk) to adjourn the town board meeting at 7:28pm. Motion carried 3-0.
