Minutes: Town of Stockton Board Meeting Monday, January 12th, 2026 @ 6:30 PM Town Hall, 7252 6th St, Custer, WI 54423 1. Call to Order – Call to order by Chairman Mike Bronk at 6:30pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor Jeanne Dodge, Supervisor Terry Johnson, Treasurer Sandra Walters, and Clerk Jennifer Zurawski were all present. Fire Chief, Jeremy Spencer, Deputy Fire Chief, Brian Higgins, and Assistant Chief of EMS, Carson Kaminski were also present. 26 members of the public were present. 2. Certify compliance with Open Meeting Law – Clerk, Jennifer Zurawski, verified proper notification was given at three physical sites, on our town website, and in the paper regarding this meeting. 3. Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to approve Agenda for Monday, January 12th, 2026. Motion carried 3-0. 4. Motion (Dodge/Johnson) to approve Minutes for the Town Board Public Hearing on Monday, December 22nd, 2025. Motion carried 3-0. 5. Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to approve Minutes for the Town Board Meeting on Monday, December 22nd, 2025. Motion carried 3-0. 6. Anyone wishing to Address the Board – Resident Ken Feltz stated he purchased the Groshek farm and they will begin doing extensive changes in the next 6-8 months which will include tearing down buildings and making updates. He just wanted to let the Town know his plans and if any concerns arise, he asked that we reach out to him. 7. Appointment of Assistant Chief of EMS – Carson Kaminski was sworn in as the New Assistant Chief of EMS with family and friends present. Carson will be replacing Dennis Lepak, as he retired Jan. 1 st, 2026. 8. Emergency Services Report including Fire Chief General Report & EMS Report – Assistant Chief of EMS, Carson Kaminski, gave the EMS report stating they had 3 calls for service, all 3 medical. Kaminski stated he currently has 12 active members and 1 member going through the onboarding process. Kaminski reported that Car 2 is now equipped with new medical bags, the IPAD is installed, lights are on their way and new tires have been purchased. Kaminski reported that the transfer of duties from Dennis Lepak has been going smoothly. Fire Chief, Jeremy Spencer, reported 2 calls, that included public assistance and car fire on Hwy 10. Chief Spencer is still waiting to hear about the AFG grant that was written for new air packs. Chief Spencer reported that they are restarting the inspection cycle for 2026. Chief Spencer announced that 3 members are signed up for entry level, firefighter 1 class and 2 members are currently taking an 8 hour DNR wildland course. 9. December Treasurer’s Report – current financials and report on last month’s financial activity - Treasurer Sandra Walters gave the December 2025 Treasurer’s report. Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to approve the December Treasurer’s report as submitted. Motion carried 3-0. 10. 2025 End of the Year Financials – Profit and Loss Statement Review – Clerk Zurawski stated that she transferred the tax settlement amount into the correct line items to keep our 2026 budget up to date. 11. Public Works Update – Chairman Bronk stated that these temperatures and the light snow fall we have been getting are creating terrible conditions, but our crew has been doing a great job of staying on top of everything. Chairman Bronk also stated that Chris has been starting to put together a list of roads to go out for bid next month. 12. Bills/Checks/Void Checks to Approve - Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to approve checks 45075 – 45115 and ACH transfers 201645 – 201349 with no voids. Motion carried 3-0. 13. Clerk’s Report – Clerk Zurawski states she completed the 2% dues with the Fire Chief, Jeremy Spencer. Clerk Zurawski reported that the tax settlements went out last week and that she was attending Election Training at the County. Clerk Zurawski has been working on completing the Plan Commission Packets for the February meeting with Ron Wierzba. Clerk Zurawski stated she will begin working on W-2’s and the DSPS Work Related Injury & Illness training this week. 14. Correspondence - Let the record show there was none. 15. Items for Future meetings – Clerk Zurawski stated the next Town Board meeting will be Monday, February 9th, 2026. The BOR Open Book is scheduled for Thursday, May 21st from 9am – 11am and the BOR is scheduled for Thursday, May 28th, 2026, from 5-7pm. 16. Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to adjourn the meeting at 7:04pm.
