Town of Stockton Board Meeting
Monday, August 25th, 2025 @ 6:30 PM
Town Hall, 7252 6th St, Custer, WI 54423
1. Call to Order by Chairman Mike Bronk at 6:30pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor
Jeanne Dodge, Supervisor Terry Johnson, Treasurer Sandra Walters, and Clerk Jennifer Zurawski were all
present. Assistant Chief of EMS Dennis Lepak was also present. 3 members of the public were present.
2. Certify compliance with Open Meeting Law – Clerk Zurawski verified proper notification was given at
three physical sites, on our town website and in the paper regarding this meeting.
3. Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to approve agenda for Monday, August 25th, 2025. Motion carried 3-0.
4. Motion (Dodge/Johnson) to approve minutes for the Town Board Meeting of Monday, July 28th, 2025.
Motion carried 3-0.
5. Anyone wishing to Address the Board – Town Resident, Harlan Hoffbeck, presented the board with
historical findings, magazine, and CD with audio from “Custer John” experiences as a Marine during the
Civil War. He asked the board if these documents, magazine, and CD could be stored in the Town Hall.
6. Emergency Services Report including Fire Chief General Report & EMS Report – Assistant Chief Lepak
reported 10 calls since the last report (7 medical & 3 trauma). Assistant Chief Lepak stated they had a
great turnout for the 8/16 & 8/17 mountain bike races at Standing Rocks Park and received many
thanks from the racers/coordinators. Assistant Chief Lepak started in-house CPR/AED training for
members.
Assistant Chief Lepak gave Fire Chief Jeremy Spencer’s Fire report since he was at an offsite training.
Assistant Chief Lepak reported 2 fire calls since last meeting to include a motor vehicle accident and
mutual aid call for a missing person in Dewey. Fire Chief Spencer wrote for the Alliant Energy Grant and
reported that we did not receive the NVFC State Farm grant. Fire Chief Spencer wanted to remind
everyone of the Open house on September 10
th at 6-8pm. Fire Chief Spencer reported completing 67
fire inspections with only 7 violations, in which 6 have been correct. Fire Chief Spencer stated his team
has completed a variety of trainings to include RTF, EMR, Firefighter 2, Emergency Services instructor,
Fire Officer 1 and entry level driver operator. Fire Chief Spencer reported the Truck DOT inspections are
complete.
7. July Treasurer’s Report – Treasurer Sandra Walters gave the July 2025 Treasurer’s Report. Motion
(Johnson/Dodge) to approve the Treasurer’s report as submitted. Motion carried 3-0.
8. Public Works Update – Chairman Bronk stated that roadcrew has been busy chip sealing Glacier Ridge
and 2nd Street. Nick has been in the mower and will start his second round of cutting the shoulders
around the town. Chairman Bronk also stated that he talked to Fahrner’s about starting the chip
sealing roads we contracted out. They stated they will have the roads started by the 2nd week in
September if not sooner.
9. Bills/Checks/Void Checks to Approve – Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to approve checks #44784-44834 and
ACH transfers 201306-201312. Motion carried 3-0.
10. Clerk’s Report – Clerk Zurawski stated the playground borders were ordered and will be delivered
tomorrow to replace/repair around the playground at the Stockton Park. Clerk Zurawski reported she
called Rural Mutual to take off trucks and equipment sold on our policy. We will be getting a
reimbursement since we already paid for the insurance in full. Clerk Zurawski reported the Website
calendar is up to date and the Fire Department open house flyer has been posted. Clerk Zurawski asked
the board if they would like the attend the Fall Workshop on September 15
th and WTA Convention in
October. She plans to attend so the office will be closed on those days. Notices will be placed in
advance on the doors and on the website. Clerk Zurawski stated she has been working with Cindy Davis
to get the Plan Commission packets completed and mailed. Clerk Zurawski also has been working on
the Recycling grant for 2026.

12. Adjourn – Motion (Johnson/Bronk) to adjourn the meeting at 7:11pm. Motion carried 3-0.
