Town of Stockton Annual Meeting of the Electors
Tuesday, April 15th, 2025 @ 6:30pm
Town Hall, 7252 6th St, Custer, WI 54423
1. Call to Order by Chairman Mike Bronk at 6:30pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The list
of attendees is attached and included 7 members of the public which included Chairman Mike
Bronk, Supervisor Terry Johnson, and Supervisor Jeanne Dodge. Clerk Jennifer Zurawski was
absent due to medical leave. Treasurer Sandy Walters was absent. In attendance was Fire Chief
Jeremy Spencer and Assistance Chief of EMS Dennis Lepak who are not residents of the Town of
Stockton.
2. Method of Voting as Stated by Chairman Mike Bronk unless Electors Desire Another Method –
Motion (Terry Johnson/Cindy Davis) to continue to use “By majority show of hands” as the
method of voting. Motion carried 7-0.
3. Motion (Jeanne Dodge/ Jim Dodge) to approval minutes for the Town of Stockton Annual
Meeting of the Electors of April 16th, 2024. Motion carried 7-0.
4. 2024 Annual Financial Report – Chairman Mike Bronk took a moment to thank the Town of
Stockton Board, Fire/EMS department, road crew, and participating members of the community.
Chairman Bronk reported on the 2024 Town of Stockton Financial Summary. Motion (Jeff
Zygarlicke/Cindy Davis) to approve the financial report as submitted. Motion carried 7-0.
5. Fire Department / EMS Report – Assistant Chief of EMS Dennis Lepak stated they had 43 calls
since the last annual meeting in April of 2024. 13 calls were trauma, 29 calls were medical, and 1
rehab fire was reported. The EMS department has 13 active members that supported various
races/events for business, schools, and volunteer events. Chief Lepak stated the department
also was utilized in support for fire rehabilitation and assisted in other EMS Department events.
They also attended Portage County EMS meetings to collaborate standards across the county.
Chief Lepak reported that the department’s long-term goals include establishing EMS response
vehicle utilizing Lucas device, pt monitor and onboard supplies. They also want to provide quick
communication with responding ambulances, reducing on-scene times, and improving patient
outcomes.
Fire Chief Jeremy Spencer reported 52 Fire/Rescue calls since the last annual meeting in April of
2024. Fire Chief Spencer was excited to announce they put a new fire engine into service in July
of 2024. The department applied for the DNR Granted and FEMA AFG grant. Fire Chief Spencer
stated they have 22 active members on the roster. Three new members have been added since
the last annual meeting in April. Chief Spencer stated they hosted many public education events
which included a successful open house in September, their annual awards banquet in February
of 2025 and the 2nd annual Easter Egg hunt in April. Fire Chief Spencer stated that the
department had $18,000 in vehicle repairs in 2024 and that 5 air packs failed flow testing. The
newest packs are from 2020 and our oldest is from 2007. These packs typically have 15 years of
service life and are around $8000 each to replace. The goal is to start replacing these packs
using capital outlay funds in the next 2-5 years.
6. Road Work for 2024 – Chairman Bronk highlighted the regular road work that is completed each
year – plowing, road sweeping, and crack filling. We chipped sealed multiple roads this year.
Chairman Bronk stated that the boom truck and freightliner dump truck have been in for repairs.
Chairman Bronk reported that the road crew has been making updates to the 4th St. and Adam
Lake Rd. culverts.
7. Any Items Brought up by Town Residents – No Comment by the Electors
8. Motion (Cindy Davis/Terry Johnson) for the 2026 Annual Meeting of the Electors to be held on
the third Tuesday of April at 6:30pm. Motion carried 7-0.
9. Motion to adjourn (Jeanne Dodge/ Jim Dodge) at 7:07pm. Motion carried 5-0.
