Town of Stockton Board Meeting
Monday, April 14th, 2025 @ 6:30 PM
Town Hall, 7252 6th St, Custer, WI 54423
1. Call to order by Chairman Mike Bronk at 6:30pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor Jeanne
Dodge, Supervisor Terry Johnson, Treasurer Sandra Walters were all present. Clerk Jennifer Zurawski was excused
due to medical leave. Assistant Chief of EMS Dennis Lepak and Fire Chief Jeremy Spencer were also present.
One member of the public was present.
2. Certify compliance with Open Meeting Law – Chairman Bronk verified proper notification was given at three
physical sites, on our town website, and in the paper regarding the meeting.
3. Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to approve Agenda for Monday, April 14th, 2025. Motion carried 3-0.
4. Motion (Dodge/Johnson) to approve minutes for the Town Board Meeting on March 10th, 2025. Motion carried
3-0.
5. Anyone wishing to Address the Board – Treasurer Sandy Walters stated that there were down trees on 10th Street
and Chairman Bronk noted that there are many others dealing with down trees in the area as well.
6. Emergency Services Report including Fire Chief General Report & EMS Report - Assistant Chief Lepak
reports 16 calls since last report (7 Trauma and 8were medical). This gives us a total of 43 calls to date.
Assistant Chief Lepak stated they will be servicing the Kelly’s Derby Dash on May 3rd, 2025 and the Half Marathon
on June 1st, 2025. Lepak also confirmed that they currently have 13 active members.
Fire Chief Spencer reported 9 calls since last report, which included two motor vehicle accidents, two grass fires,
burning complaints, and mutual aid calls. Fire Chief Spencer reported applying for several grants but has not
heard if they were rewarded yet. Fire Chief Spencer reminded us that the 2
nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt is this
Saturday April 19th starting at 10am. Chief Spencer stated that 5 members completed their DNR wildland fire
suppression, and 3 members will be taking EMR courses in the Fall.
7. Request by Mathy Construction for a variance to install a holding tank at 4807 Custer Rd. – Motion
(Johnson/Dodge) voted to approve the construction of the holding tank at 4807 Custer Rd. for Mathy
Construction and asked to forward the request to Portage County. Motion carried 3-0.
8. Discussion of Town Board members serving at Plan Commission meeting if quorum is not met – No Action
was taken.
9. Operator’s License/Retailer’s License – Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to approve Jennifer Wisz for an operator’s
license in the Town. Motion carried 3-0.
10. Public Works Update - Chairman Bronk stated that Road Foreman Chris Kizewski put together a list for chip
sealing in 2025. Clerk Zurawski will get that typed up for the next Town Board meeting and then we can go out
for bids. Chairman Bronk also noted that the Freightliner Dump Truck is at Kriete because the transmission went
out.
11. Bills/Checks/Void Checks to Approve Motion (Dodge/Johnson) to approve checks 44498 – 44575 and ACH
transfers 201270 – 201279. Motion carried 3-0.
12. Clerk’s Report - Chairman Bronk stated on Clerk Zurawski’s behalf that the election went well. We had over 70%
turnout for the town, which is great! Clerk Zurawski congratulated Mike, Jeanne, Terry, and Sandra for winning
the Town Board positions. Clerk Zurawski will have the Oaths ready for the next town board meeting. Clerk
Zurawski stated she completed the election reconciliation. She also received two requests for driveway permits,
and those were completed before her leave. She submitted the Board of Review paperwork to the Department
of Revenue. Clerk Zurawski thanked Mike for attending on the board’s behalf. Clerk Zurawski stated that the WTA
board members were very pleased with the presentation and thanked us for hosting. This was the biggest event
they had in years and thought we did a very nice job.

14. Items for Future meetings – Next Meeting will be May 12th
15. Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to adjourn the meeting at 7:15pm. Motion carried 3-0.
