Town of Stockton Board Meeting
Monday, March 10th, 2025 @ 6:30 PM
Town Hall, 7252 6th St, Custer, WI 54423
1. Call to order by Chairman Mike Bronk at 6:30pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor Jeanne
Dodge, Supervisor Terry Johnson, Treasurer Sandra Walters, and Clerk Jennifer Zurawski were all present.
Assistant Chief of EMS Dennis Lepak, Deputy Fire Chief Brian Higgins and Fire Chief Jeremy Spencer were also
present. Three members of the public were present.
2. Certify compliance with Open Meeting Law – Clerk Zurawski verified proper notification was given at three
physical sites, on our town website, and in the paper regarding the meeting.
3. Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to approve Agenda for Monday, March 10th, 2025. Motion carried 3-0.
4. Motion (Dodge/Johnson) to approve minutes for the Town Board Meeting on February 24th, 2025. Motion
carried 3-0.
5. Anyone wishing to Address the Board - No Comment
6. Emergency Services Report including Fire Chief General Report & EMS Report – Assistant Chief Lepak
reports 6 calls since last report (all 6 were medical). Chief Lepak stated that the last snowmobile race was
cancelled due to weather but they fulfilled 9 races for the year. Lepak reported EMS will support the half
marathon thru the Town of Stockton on 06/01/25 and currently has 13 active members.
Fire Chief Spencer reported no calls since last report but stated burning permits are required to burn right
now. Spencer reported that they submitted the Anheueser-Busch drinking water grant today and have not
heard any updates on the AFG grant yet. Reimbursement for the DNR grant was submitted. Chief Spencer
invites you and your families to the 2nd Annual Easter Egg hunt on Saturday, April 19th. Chief Spencer was
very thankful for the generous donations he has received for this community event.
7. Discussion regarding the possible sale of excess right-of–way owned by the Town of Stockton at Custer
Square – Town Resident, Steve Trzebiatowski, was present for this topic as he will be on the Plan
Commission meeting agenda in May and was asking the board if they would be in favor of possible selling
the Right away on Custer Square for the property he is looking to sell and change the zoning to commercial.
8. Discussion of Town Board members serving at Plan Commission meeting if quorum is not met – The board
discussed having Town Board members who are present at the Plan Commission meetings to step in for
plan commission members if there are not enough members available for a quorum. This discussion was
tabled until the board can confirm with the Wisconsin’s Town Association if this is possible as they would
be then voting on topics brought to the board after the plan commission has decided.
9. WTA Meal Preparation and Discussion – Chairman Bronk stated he is donating the chips and water for the
event. Clerk Zurawski will pick up soda, buns and brownies for the event. Supervisor Johnson stated he
will bring in more chairs and help with the day of the event as needed. Supervisor Dodge stated she would
order and pick up the roast beef from Arby’s on the day of the event.
10. February Treasurer’s Report – Treasurer Walters provided the February 2025 Treasurer’s Report to include the
current financials and report on last month’s financial activity. Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to approve the report as
submitted. Motion carried 3-0.
11. Public Works Update – Chairman Bronk stated that the weight limits signs when up this morning and snow fence
has been getting picked up. Chairman Bronk stated that the boys have been plowing when needed and cutting
brush along the roadways.
12. Bills/Checks/Void Checks to Approve - Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to approve checks 44465-44497 and ACH
transfers 201266-201269. Motion carried 3-0.
13. Clerk’s Report - Clerk Zurawski stated she just received the Salt Order form today. She asked the board if they
would like to order the same amount as they did last year. She will place this order tomorrow when in the office.
She has been working with Jeff Kropp with correcting a few line items on the budget for 2025. Clerk Zurawski
stated that all DOR forms are complete, and the Town of Stockton is up to date with filings. Clerk Zurawski
reported completing/mailing 120 absentee ballots today.
14. Correspondence - No comment
15. Items for Future meetings – Next Town Board Meeting will be on April 14th, 2025, at 6:30pm. The Annual
Meeting of Electors will be held on April 15th, 2025, at 6:30pm.
16. Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to adjourn the meeting at 7:26pm. Motion carried 3-0.
