1 AMERY PLAN COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS July 23 , 2026 The Plan Commission for the City of Amery met on Thursday – July 23 , 2026 , at City Hall . Rick Van Blaricom ; called the meeting to order at 9 :0 0 a .m. Present: Members – Rick Van Blaricom , Eric Elkin, Paul Isakson , Brianna White , Scott Carlson , Paul Shafer, and Pat Cahill. Staff present: Alex Mansfield-City Administrator and Taylor Larson -Clerk/Treasurer Others present – Claire Stickler with MSA Motion by Isakson ; seconded by Cahill to approve the agenda. Ayes – 7 Nays – 0 Motion Carried. 1. Discussion/Recommendation of Rezoning Request for 201-00776-2000 - 1101 Cornwall Ave, Amery, WI 54001 to change from C-2: Central Business to I-1: Light Industrial – Clerk- Treasurer /Zoning Administrator Larson presented a rezoning request for SMK Holdings. Currently there is a car dealership operating on the property as a non-conforming use. The owner would like to expand, which means the property must comply with the zoning code. Changing the property to I-1 would allow the current use to be permitted and there are other I-1 properties in the area . Motion by Cahill ; seconded by Carlson to recommend to Council approving the rezoning request for 201- 00 7 76-2000 – 1101 Cornwall Ave, Amery, WI 54001 from C-2: Central Business to I-1: Light Industrial. Roll Call Ayes – Elkin, White, Van Blaricom, Cahill, Isakson, Carlson , Shafer Nays – None Motion Carried. 2. Discussion/Approval of Zoning Permit for 201-00776-2000 - 1101 Cornwall Ave, Amery, WI 54001 – Clerk-Treasurer /Zoning Administrator Larson presented a Zoning Application for 1101 Cornwall Ave, Amery, WI 54001 to build two additional buildings on the property. The application was submitted for I-1 , contingent on a rezoning of the property. The buildings would meet zoning requirements for I-1 and its use would be in conjunction with the business currently operating on the property . Motion by Cahill; seconded by Isakson to recommend Zoning Administrator Larson approve the Zoning Application for 1101 Cornwall Ave contingent upon the property being rezoned from C-2 to I-1. Roll Call Ayes – Elkin, White, Van Blaricom, Cahill, Isakson, Carlson, Shafer Nays – None Motion Carried. 3. Zoning Code Rewrite Update and Discussion – Claire Stickler with MSA w as present to review updates to the accessory structures portion of the zoning code and the zoning use matrix.
