Town of Stockton Board Meeting
Monday, October 28th, 2024 @ 6:00 PM
Town Hall, 7252 6th St, Custer, WI 54423
1. Call to order by Chairman Mike Bronk at 6:30pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor
Jeanne Dodge, Supervisor Terry Johnson, Treasurer Sandra Walters and Clerk Jennifer Zurawski were all
present. Foreman Chris Kizewski was also present. 2 members of the public were present.
2. Certify compliance with Open Meeting Law - Chairman verified proper notification was given at three
physical sites, on our town website and in the paper regarding this meeting.
3. Motion (Dodge/Johnson) to approve Agenda for Monday, October 28th, 2024. Motion carried 3-0.
4. Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to approve minutes for the Town Board Meeting on October 14th, 2024. Motion
carried 3-0.
5. Motion (Dodge/Johnson) to approve minutes for the Town Board Meeting on October 21st, 2024. Motion
carried 3-0.
6. Anyone wishing to Address the Board – No Comment
7. Storage Unlimited LLC, owner, Josh Ramsden, agent, of Parcel #034240931:10.11 located in the Town of
Stockton, are seeking a Special Exception permit through the Portage County Board of Adjustment (BOA)
to expand their mini-warehouse development by 4 more storage units. – Josh Ramsden and Erin Hilgart
were present for this meeting to answer any questions regarding this parcel. Motion (Dodge/Johnson) to
approve special exception permit for the additional 4 storage buildings if they are ordering the fire
extinguishers for the buildings and following all safety requirements. Motion carried 3-0.
8. Pauls & Associates Contract Renewal – Motion (Bronk/Dodge) to renewal our 2-year contract with Pauls
& Associates for an increase fee of $25,900 per year. Motion carried 3-0.
9. September Treasurer’s Report – Treasurer Sandra Walters gave the September 2024 Treasurer’s Report.
Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to approve the Treasurer’s Report as submitted. Motion carried 3-0.
10. Public Works Update – Road Foreman Chris Kizewski stated the crew is putting away equipment for
winter and moved the winter equipment to the shop. They are prepping the plow trucks, so they are
ready for plowing. Foreman Kizewski also stated that they are preparing for snow fence once the farmers
get their fields cleared. Foreman Kizewski reported they sold Tiger Mower for $27,750.
11. Bills/Checks/Void Checks to Approve – Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to approve checks 44199 – 44213 and
ACH transfers 201234 – 201235. Motion carried 3-0.
12. Clerk’s Report - Clerk Zurawski stated that she was extremely busy with in-person voting and reported
receiving multiple rude/unkind messages on her machine for not being available all days to vote in
person at all hours of the day including Saturday and Sunday. Clerk Zurawski stated she has a lot of
preparation to do yet for the Election next Tuesday.
13. Correspondence - No Comment
14. Items for Future meetings – 3 Meeting Elector Meeting will be November 19th, 2024, at 6pm.
15. Budget Updates & Discussion – Discussion to add 4% raise for Full-time Road crew employees to the
budget. There was board discussion to increase or decrease capital outlay to balance the budget for next
board meeting.
16. Adjourn - Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to adjourn the meeting at 6:40pm. Motion carried 3-0.
