Town of Stockton Board Meeting
Monday, September 30th, 2024 @ 6:30 PM
Town Hall, 7252 6th St, Custer, WI 54423
1. Call to order by Chairman Mike Bronk at 6:30 PM. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor Jeanne
Dodge, Supervisor Terry Johnson, and Clerk Jennifer Zurawski were all present. Treasurer Sandra Walters
was excused. Fire Chief Jeremy Spencer, Assistant Chief of EMS Dennis Lepak, Road Foreman Chris Kizewski and
Town employee Lorin Chojnacki were also present. Four members of the public were present.
2. Certify compliance with Open Meeting Law - Chairman verified proper notification was given at three physical
sites, on our website and in the paper of this meeting.
3. Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to approve Agenda for Monday, September 30th, 2024. Motion carried 3-0.
4. Motion (Dodge/Johnson) to approve minutes for the Town Board Meeting on September 9th, 2024. Motion
carried 3-0.
5. Anyone wishing to Address the Board - Town Resident Pam Somers brought up concerns about the speed limit on
6th street and how residents are not abiding by the speed. She stated it is making it unsafe to play in her yard
with her young grandchildren and that the speed limit is not being enforced.
6. Emergency Services Report including Fire Chief General Report & EMS Report - Assistant Chief Lepak reported 9
calls since last report (9 Medical), giving us a total of 72 calls for the year. Assistant Chief Lepak stated he
currently has 14 active members. The EMS Team plans to staff two cross country meets in October. They also
plan to staff the snowmobile races starting 12/28/24 and every Saturday till March 25 weather permitting.
Fire Chief Jeremy Spencer reported 6 calls since the last report to include false fire alarm, semi-truck brake fire, 3
vehicle car fire on Hwy 1, mulch fire and two vehicle accident on J & HH. Fire Chief Spencer reported that Tender
2 broke down and is in for repair. Fire Chief Spencer stated they received the DNR FFP grant and are waiting to
hear if they received the FEMA AFG Grant. Fire Chief Spencer stated that the Open house was well attended, and
he heard great feedback on this event. Fire Chief Spencer stated they received a donation from the Iola Car
Show for helping volunteer at that event in the amount of $1118.84.
7. Glacier Ridge Cul-de-sac agreement with landowners – Motion (Dodge/Johnson) to approve the quick claim deed
on parcel 034-24-0920-01.15 on Glacier Ridge Road. Motion carried 3-0.
8. August Treasurer’s Report – In Treasurer Sandra’s absence
Clerk Zurawski provided the August 2024 Treasurer’s report to include current financials and report on last
month’s financial activity. Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to approve report as provided. Motion carried 3-0.
9. Public Works Update - Road Foreman Chris Kizewski stated they repaved Oak Moraine and just finished up the
shoulder and patching. Road Foreman Kizewski stated that Nick has been mowing alongside all the roads in the
town and is almost done. Road Foreman Kizewski reported the Salt Order came in early and they still have
sand/salt mixed in the shed in preparation for the winter months.
10. Bills/Checks/Void Checks to Approve – Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to approve checks 44123-44139 and ACH
transfers 201223-201226. Motion carried 3-0.
11. Clerk’s Report – Clerk Zurawski stated that the Plan Commission Meeting would take place on October 2nd at
5:30pm to go over Chapter 2 of the Comprehensive Plan. Clerk Zurawski stated the office would be closed on
Monday, October 7th and Tuesday, October 8th for the Wisconsin Towns Association Convention. Clerk Zurawski
also stated that the office would be closed on Tuesday October 15th for the County Election training. Clerk
Zurawski completed the Recycling Grant application for 2025, uploaded all the election equipment, and
performed her Election Pretest. Clerk Zurawski stated that in-person Absentee Voting starts Tuesday, October
22nd.

13. Items for Future meetings - Chairman Bronk stated that Budget planning would begin soon.
14. Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to adjourn the meeting at 7:20pm. Motion carried 3-0.
