Stockton Town Board Meeting — Minutes

Minutes: Town of Stockton Board Meeting Monday, July 8th, 2024 @ 6:30 PM Town Hall, 7252 6th St, Custer, WI 54423 1. Call to order by Chairman Mike Bronk at 6:30 PM. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor Jeanne Dodge, Supervisor Terry Johnson, Clerk Jennifer Zurawski, and Treasurer Sandra Walters were all present. One member of the public was present. 2. Motion (Dodge/Johnson) to approve Agenda for Monday, July 8th, 2024. Motion carried 3-0. 3. Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to approve minutes for the Town Board Meeting on June 24th, 2024. Motion carried 3-0. 4. Anyone wishing to Address the Board – Supervisor Terry Johnson received and presented a quote to repair the drywall in the main area of the Town Hall. The quote was provided by Custer Countryside Construction in the amount of $3,231.41. 5. Public Works Update - Chairman Mike Bronk reported the mowing along the roads is almost complete, with all the rain received they have gone over the road for a second time in some areas. Chairman Bronk also reported that the road crew is working on the compact cart to rebuild the wheels to be more stable. 6. Bills/Checks/Void Checks to Approve – Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to approve checks 43939 - 43978 and ACH Transfers 201204 – 201207. Motion carried 3-0. 7. Clerk’s Report - Clerk Zurawski stated she has been preparing for the election. She has confirmed election workers and sent all absentee ballots out last week. Clerk Zurawski will be attending the Election Training on Monday, July 22nd at 9am at the County. She will be working at getting the Town Hall back in order and cleaned up after the painters are done for the In-Person voting that will start July 30th. Clerk Zurawski suggested cancelling the next meeting scheduled for July 22nd, as we have a Wisconsin Towns Association meeting that night and the hall will be under construction. Clerk Zurawski also asked to move the first meeting in August to August 5th instead of August 12th as the town hall will be prepped and ready for the Election on August 13th. 8. Correspondence – Chairman Mike Bronk stated that the swearing in Ceremony for the Fire Department was very nice and well ran. Chairman Bronk stated it was great to see all the members and their families participating. Supervisor Terry Johnson and Supervisor Jeanne Dodge also attended. They both agreed it was a wonderful event to show appreciation for our Fire Department. 9. Adjourn - Motion (Johnson/Dodge) to adjourn the meeting at 6:54pm. Motion carried 3-0.
