the report is on file. Reported Wisconsin Fatali ty Totals have decreased by 30, going into the
summer of 2026, in comparison with 2025 at this time. Between January and April of 2026, numbers
of crashes have been somewhat stable overall. There has been a decrease in ten-driver crashes
during that period. Winter road crashes increased somewhat between January and April 2026, due
to an increase in snowy conditions. Presented WiSTAR as an online program for law enforcement
to track citations and warnings. Crashes are marked online with “clickable” pins to display traffic
information such as dates, locations and agencies. WiSTAR is a useful tool for law enforcement to
gather data on traffic stops, warnings and citations. The Highway Safety Improvement Program
(HSIP) is a federal reimbursement program (90% federal/10% match) focused on infrastructure
improvements identified and selected through a data- driven approach. HSIP can be utilized by
Highway Department Commissioners , by local entities, and to aid in projects that reduce numbers
and severity of crashes. Zero in Wisconsin, the Governor’s Conference on Highway Safety, will be
