Supervision & ratios
During a walk through of the playground, I observed a portion of the back gate that has damaged and no longer attached. There were boards with nails lying on the ground and accessible to the children. The back porch had electrical cords and lawn equipment out and accessible to the children. A safety plan was developed with the provider stating how the operation would be able to promote outdoors play while keeping the children safe outside. I also observed repairs to the gate being done.
HHSC 747.4105 — Fenced Outdoor Activity Space
HHSC risk weight: Medium High. Corrected 2023-02-03. Correction verified 2023-02-03.
-
Safety & premises Serious
During a walk through of the play ground, a pool and fire pit were both observed with a body of standing water. This was corrected during the inspection when the provider dumped the water from the fire pit and the pool thrown away.
HHSC 747.4813(a)(3) — Safety Requirements for Wading Pools - Stored So Do Not Hold Water
HHSC risk weight: High. Corrected at inspection. Corrected 2023-01-23.
